After Bentong, I went to Raub, one of the oldest towns in the State of Pahang about 110 km from Kuala Lumpur. It began as a gold mining town in the early 19th century. Remains of its colonial past are evident in the old buildings scattered around the town.
Raub is one of the best origins for Durian in Malaysia. The main economic activity of Raub is the Agriculture sector which fruits are common is Raub, after the fall of gold mining sector. Besides fruits, rubber tapping is quite common in Raub.
You should try Ratha Curry Restaurant for breakfast or lunch, the restaurant proclaimed as “Raub Famous Curry Fish Head”. My favorite beside curry are lamb steak and chicken curry.
